Outdoor Skating Rinks In North Bay
Outdoor rinks provide a valuable leisure experience in your own neighbourhood. The City of North Bay operates a total of thirteen rinks in the City. Some are supervised by caretakers hired by the City. Others are dependant on volunteers to operate.
Refer to our Rink Condition Summary for the condition of our outdoor rinks.
Supervised Rinks
Rink caretakers are hired at seven locations and are on duty for approximately 8 -10 weeks (weather dependant) beginning in the first week of January after New Years. (Call Parks and Recreation Department for start date) The caretakers at these locations open the building for pubic use on a regular weekly schedule during the season. At these locations, a schedule will be posted showing public skating and hockey shinny times. You can find a copy of the caretaker and shinny/skating schedule here.
