Al McDonald - Mayor
Al was born in Marville, France. His father was a pilot and Colonel in the Canadian Armed Forces, and they moved often when Al was younger. From Comox, British Columbia to Goose Bay, Labrador, and everywhere in between, AI has had the pleasure of living in a variety of places. In 1976, Al moved to North Bay, and decided to make the Bay his home.
Moving often gave AI the opportunity to meet wonderful people and experience Canada from a unique perspective. Although having lived in many lovely places, North Bay is truly home for Al and his partner of 17 years, Wendy Abdallah.
Through the years, Al has served the community as a Deputy Mayor and Councillor, as Member of Provincial Parliament, as Parliamentary Assistant to the Minister of Enterprise, on numerous boards, agencies and committees and through thousands of volunteer hours on community projects both big and small.
A graduate of Widdifield High School, Al has been a successful entrepreneur and has founded and owned many successful businesses. Al has also mentored young entrepreneurs who have gone on to create successful businesses of their own. But it is through community involvement that Al has made his most significant contributions and has found his greatest rewards.

Al is especially proud to have Chaired the "Save the Cents" and the "Save the Hill" Committees, both of which generated significant community support and involvement. In fact, Al led a volunteer group that took a bankrupt and closed community ski hill and in one year, turned it around and ended with a $450,000 surplus.
Al is also proud to have spearheaded a Capitol Centre fundraising initiative which included the talents of local artists, business leaders, community builders, members of the media and politicians. "Northern Overexposure" raised $40,000 in one evening.
As President of the Nipissing Lakers Hockey Club, Al derives tremendous pleasure knowing high-caliber hockey is available in North Bay once again. Al partnered with Nipissing University to bring a high profile varsity sport to Nipissing University and the City of North Bay. In 2009, the Lakers were named North Bay's newsmaker of the year as well as the sports story of the year.
As a catalyst for returning Lacrosse to North Bay, Al has introduced Canada's true national sport to hundreds of local youth.
Charitable contributions and volunteering are important to Al; in fact, Al donated the use of a building and paid all utilities to help start The Gathering Place, a local soup kitchen.
Al is very active playing hockey during the winter months and competing in triathlons during the summer.
Al's partner, Wendy, works with victims of crime in the Ministry of Attorney General's office at the North Bay Courthouse. Al and Wendy love to spend time with their daughter Khouri, son in law Marc, and their three grandchildren - Kaedyn, Briir and Khov.
Whether through amateur sport, business, community volunteering, fundraising for charity or worthy causes, Al remains dedicated to the City he calls home, North Bay.

Sean Lawlor
Sean Lawlor is in his first term as a Councillor working for the City of North Bay. Sean is the Chair of Community Services and also sits on the DNSSAB, Heritage North Bay, North Bay Hydro Holdings, the Planning Advisory Committee and the YMCA Board.
Sean was born and raised in North Bay. He and his wife Lisa have two young children. He is currently the General Manager of LACmedia and also manages the firm of Lawlor and Associates Consultants Inc.
Prior to becoming involved in municipal politics, Sean was President of the North Bay and District Chamber of Commerce for a period of two years. He has served as a Director and an Executive member of the Chamber for a period of 4 years.
Over the past several years Sean has been actively involved with the rejuvenation of the August long weekend Festival, formerly known as the Heritage Festival.
Sean believes that listening to people, problem solving and action are the only way to ensure that he is truly reflecting, representing and working in the best interests of people.

Tanya Vrebosch
This is my second term on city council, and I am very proud to be able to represent the people of North Bay for the next 4 years.
A little bit about myself:
- I was born in Corbeil
- I am an alumni of St Joseph School, St Joseph Scollard Hall and Canadore College
- I moved into town at the age of 18 while attending Canadore
- My parents are Bill and Gisele Vrebosch (Corbeil),
- My siblings are Lisa (Mississauga), Louise (Toronto) and Billy (Toronto)
- I have a family history of politics - my grandfather George Gravelle was the Reeve of East Ferris Township and my father Bill is the current Mayor of East Ferris and has been in politics for the past 35 years
- My husband Cameron Merry and I have lived in West Ferris for the past 3 years in our first home
- For the past 4 years I have and continue to work for LIPI - Low Income People Involvement of Nipissing
- I am an active volunteer in the community (ex. Capitol Centre)

- I am a strong advocate for housing and transit
I am honest, hardworking and and I believe in voting with my conscience. Last term I sat on the General Government Committee, the Planning Advisory Committee, the Capitol Centre, the North Bay Public Library Board, the Concerned Citizens Committee and the Waste Resource Liaison Committee. This next term I will Chair Engineering and Public Works and sit on the District of Nipissing Social Services Administration Board, the North Bay - Mattawa Conservation Authority and continue to serve on the Waste Resource Liaison Committee and the Concerned Citizens Committee. I look forward to increasing my role and involvement in the city over this next term.

Dave Mendicino
Dave Mendicino is currently on his third term as city councillor and serves as Vice Chair of Community services. He also sits on the boards for Cassellhome, the North Bay-Mattawa Conservation Authority, the Downtown Improvement Area and the Planning Advisory Committee. Dave's focus over the previous terms's have been on Healthy Active Living and our aging population and these will continue to remain a priority for him over this current term. He was born and raised in North Bay and in 1993, made a quality of life decision to move back to the city that he loves.

Chris Mayne
Chris Mayne is a first term Councilor ( elected November 2006) and sits on the Engineering and Environment services Committee of Council. In addition to EES he also Chairs the Waste Resource Liaison Committee and sits as a Board member with the Nipissing District Social Services Board for the City of North Bay, Chairing the Housing Task Force and Audit Committees. In the community, Chris is a Past President of the Rotary Club of North Bay, a founding member of The Friends of La Vase Portages, 2007 Chair of the North Bay Blooms Committee , past Board member North Bay Titans Swim Team and is a past Director with the North Bay and District Chamber of Commerce.
A life long resident of North Bay, graduate of Dr Carruthers Public School and Chippewa Secondary School, Chris, Lori and their three children live, work and are continuing their education in North Bay.
While owning a decent set of golf clubs, outdoor photography and canoeing are his real recreational passions, major trip todate being 15 nights on the Nahanni River in the N.W.T.

Judy Koziol
I am a first generation Canadian born in Toronto in 1962 to a Hungarian father and an East German mother. I was also educated in Toronto.
I met my husband Anthony Koziol, a Bonfield boy at university in Toronto. We married in 1984 and then moved to North Bay in 1985.
This is my third term serving the citizens of North Bay.
I currently am the Vice Chair of General Government.
The following is a list of the various Agencies/Board Committees I sit on beyond the ones Council as a whole forms.
District of Nipissing Social Services Administration Board - there are four sub-committees of this Board. I currently sit on two. Social Services Committee and Housing and EMS Committee, Nipissing District Housing Corporation, Planning Advisory Committee and the Municipal Heritage Committee.

Mike Anthony
Mike Anthony is serving his fourth straight term on North Bay City Council; having been first elected in 2000, and was honoured to be returned to council in each of the three following elections. He considers it a priveledge to serve his community. Mike has worked on a variety of boards and commissions, and currently will be one of the council representatives on the Downtown Improvement Boards, the Library Board, and the Health Unit for the 2010--2014 term.
Mike was born in Nova Scotia and graduated from St Mary's University (Halifax) and then North Bay's Canadore College in the Broadcast Journalism program. For several years Mike covered news for a variety of radio stations, which educated him on city issues and resulted in his decision to run for municipal politics.
Mike has also worked as an employment advisor, workshop designer & facilitator, taught communications courses at the college level, and managed a marketing centre.
He and his partner Tanya Retson reside in the Pinewood area.

Mac Bain
Mac Bain is a second term Councilor (elected 2003) and sits as Vice-Chair of the Engineering and Works Committee of Council. Mac is the Chair of the North Bay Parry Sound Health Unit, the Vice President of Federation of Northern Ontario Municipalities, a director with the Association of Municipalities of Ontario, with the North Bay Mattawa Conservation Authority and was the former Chair of the North Bay Hydro Distributing Company.
Mac graduated from West Ferris Secondary School in 1982, and went on to study Funeral Service Education at Humber College in Toronto. After graduation from Humber in 1985, Mac joined the staff at Martyn Funeral Home, where he had apprenticed the year before. Mac is a member of the North Bay Masonic Lodge # 420, and was a former 3 term director of the North Bay Chamber of Commerce.
Mac has an acute interest in politics. He served on council in Callander, before moving to North Bay in 1992. He has served as President for the Federal and Provincial Nipissing Liberal Association.
He really enjoys time with his wife and daughter, golfing, home improvement projects and vacations away with his wife!

Daryl Vaillancourt
Daryl Vaillancourt is a third term Councillor and sits on the Community Services Committee of Council.
Mr. Vaillancourt is a member of the North Bay Jack Garland Airport Board of Directors and the current Chairman of the North Bay Parry Sound District Health Unit.
He and his wife Michele have two daughters and are proud North Bay residents. Daryl is an alumnus of Scollard Hall, a licenced commercial pilot, an experienced business man and professional manager.
